President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky approved sanctions against the Nash TV channel.
This is stated in his decree No. 52/2022 on the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated February 11, 2022 “On the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)”.
What is the presidential decree
“To put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated February 11, 2022 “On the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions),” the decree says.
The decree notes that LLC “Our Praga”, LLC “Our 24” and LLC “OUR 365” are subject to sanctions for five years.
At the same time, control over the implementation of the NSDC decision is entrusted to the NSDC Secretary Alexei Danilov. The Decree comes into force from the day of its publication.
What happened
On February 11, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov said that the National Security and Defense Council had imposed sanctions against the Nash TV channel.
“In particular, sanctions have been imposed against the company Our Prague, Our 24, Our 365 (NASH channel) and the company directly owning all these companies, which is registered in Cyprus in Limassol,” he said.
Also, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yevgeny Muraev emotionally appealed to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky after the imposition of sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council against the Nash TV channel.
“I, God sees, did not want to say many things and do a lot. Now I understand that I must. Vladimir Alexandrovich, this is your last mistake, and we will definitely become your sentence. I, at least, will do everything for this, ” – said Muraev on the air of the Nash channel.
Recall that journalist Savik Shuster said that the Ukrainian authorities acted “not like an adult” in the issue of sanctions against the Nash TV channel, because they did not even try to explain to the public the reasons for such a decision.
The journalist also noted that representatives of the Servant of the People party announced “soft sanctions” on his program, ignoring the broadcasts.
