For the citizens of Ukraine, the United States of America and Great Britain are today the most faithful allies in the fight against Russian aggression. It was these countries that Ukrainians first of all indicated when answering the question “Which country provides the most significant assistance to Ukraine in overcoming the military threat on the border with Russia?”

The public opinion poll was conducted by Gradus, commissioned by the editors of Segodnya.

Allied leaderboards

The United States is considered our main ally by 38.9% of polled Ukrainians. The rest of the countries got a much smaller result.

Satisfied with the help provided by the UK, only 9.5% of the polled Ukrainians. However, the kingdom has the second highest result in the poll.

In third place is Poland. Her assistance is considered sufficient by 2.8% of citizens of Ukraine who took part in the survey.

The result is even lower for the Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia) – 2.1%.

But to the leading EU countries – Germany and France – Ukrainians have big claims regarding assistance in containing Russia. Only 2.0% (Germany) and 1.4% (France) recognized their assistance as sufficient.

  • Recall that Washington has already sent to Ukraine more than a dozen aircraft with weapons designed to curb Moscow’s desire to send its troops to Ukraine.
  • On February 15, in his address to the nation, US President Joseph Biden assured that Ukraine could count on further arms deliveries.
  • On February 13, military aid from Lithuania arrived in Ukraine. These were portable anti-aircraft missile systems “Stinger”, designed to destroy aircraft, helicopters and UAVs.
  • The Canadian authorities provided Ukraine with a loan in the amount of $392.8 million, lethal weapons and ammunition in the amount of $6.1 million.
  • On February 9, a plane with military aid from Great Britain arrived at the Boryspil airport. There was military cargo and equipment for the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
