A1 fire: one lane reopened heading south

Green pass, Coltorti:

(ANSA) – MILAN, FEBRUARY 16 – The A1 motorway section between the connection of the East Outer Ring Road of Milan and Lodi has just opened towards the south, which had been closed due to an accident in which a tank caught fire, this morning before 7 o’clock.

The section has currently reopened to one lane and is expected to fully reopen in the evening. The longer the times in the North direction, the more damaged by the accident. In about an hour, Autostrade per l’Italia informs, one lane should reopen while full opening is scheduled for the night.

To restore circulation in the section where the accident occurred, the works required time, men (about fifty of Aspi only) and vehicles (about forty among those of Aspi and the firefighters). The safety of the tank was delicate: the liquid it was transporting caught fire in part, but in part it escaped. It was therefore necessary to wait for the arrival of specialized companies from Piacenza with their means to recover the liquid.

After this operation, in the afternoon the technicians were able to remove the tank. Then work began on the milling of the flooring, restoration of the signs with indications for partial reopening. (HANDLE).
