Tax: 2.5 million assets seizure and interdiction to entrepreneur

(ANSA) – PALMI, 23 FEB – Assets for 2.5 million euros were seized by the Finance Police of the Provincial Command of Reggio Calabria from an entrepreneur, director of a company active in the passenger transport sector, in respect of which he is a ban on the management of a business for a period of one year was also established. The measures were issued by the Gip of the Court of Palmi at the request of the Palmese prosecutor.

The operation represents the outcome of an investigation conducted by the Reggio Calabria Economic and Financial Police Unit which allowed us to hypothesize the crime of undue compensation in the 2015-2020 period. In particular, the investigations revealed the systematic recourse by the entrepreneur to the mechanism of offsetting tax credits for concessions regarding non-existent purchases of diesel. All through requests for reimbursement of credits related to the costs of fuel used in the business activity but in reality not true, with consequent failure to pay the related sums to the Treasury.

According to what was hypothesized by the financiers, the mechanism would have allowed on the one hand to allow the company undue tax savings and, on the other hand, to obtain an apparent regularity of contributions necessary for the purposes of the disbursement, by the competent institutions, of the public contribution for the local transport service provided by the administered company.
