Ukraine: Arpa Fvg intensifies air monitoring

Ukraine, Count:

(ANSA) – TRIESTE, 28 FEB – Following the intensification of the war events in Eastern Europe and the growing concerns about the release of radioactive substances, the ARPA, Regional Agency for the Protection of the Environment, Fvg, has intensified since last Saturday the monitoring of radionuclides in the air in its Udine station. The activities are carried out with ISIN (National Inspectorate for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection) which is the national alert point. All the surveys carried out so far do not show any increase in radioactivity in the air compared to the natural background values.

The measurements are carried out at the Arpa FVG Regional Radiation Protection Center (CRR) and at the moment the continuous monitoring of gamma radiation in the air and the control of total suspended dust (atmospheric particulate) has been intensified. The measurements of irradiation in the air are published continuously on the web page http: //www.arpaweb.
