(ANSA) – RIMINI, 28 FEB – The Romagna hoteliers are on the move to welcome refugees from Ukraine. The first to reach the coast were welcomed in some structures in Rimini but other rooms are ready all over the coast, as explained by the Riviera Sicura association which brings together about 250 Romagna accommodation facilities. “The hotelier category has always been closely linked to Ukraine – explains the hotel owner and president of the association, Giosuè Salomone – Almost all hotels on the Romagna Riviera have at least one employee who comes from Ukraine”.

And so, with the images of the refugees who left their cities with the advance of the Russian army, in the chats of the Romagna hoteliers we organized to welcome them. “Some arrived last night – reports Solomon – We expect another 26 in the course of the day, but we expect hundreds of them in the next few days”.

It will be a difficult situation to manage, because most of the structures are closed in this period, and therefore must be reactivated, also from the point of view of the staff.

“It is difficult to prepare an extraordinary opening in a few hours”, says the hotelier. “We managed to recover about sixty rooms. We hope to reach a few hundred in the space of a few days”. The goal is to welcome “300, 400 refugees” within a few days, even if the number of people who will arrive in the area is not yet known. The hoteliers are in contact with the Italy-Ukraine association for updates. “At the moment there are three minibuses arriving towards Romagna full of refugees”, says the hotelier. (HANDLE).
