(ANSA) – GENOA, MARCH 06 – Portofino lights up with the colors of the Ukrainian flag. Last night the facades of the buildings in the square of the village loved by VIPs turned blue and yellow to express closeness to Ukraine invaded by Russian troops. The upper parts of the buildings were illuminated by thousands of blue lights, in the lower ones yellow dominated.
The color of the village made a suggestive image. Thus the municipal administration led by the mayor Matteo Viacava wanted to express solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
Yesterday morning another solidarity initiative was organized in nearby Santa Margherita Ligure: about twenty boats of all kinds made the crossing to the Gulf of Portofino (ANSA).
