(ANSA) – VENICE, MARCH 10 – The first Chinese-run café in Piazza San Marco will open in a few days in Venice. The gran Caffè Fulgenzi, one of the historic places in the Piazza, closed for some time, was taken over by a Chinese businesswoman who has lived and worked in the city for over 30 years. A challenge “in a difficult moment – said the woman to ‘Corriere del Veneto’ – but I have faith”. The entrepreneur’s son will work in the new restaurant together with a team of young people: the dishes will be prepared by a Venetian chef, and the proposal will be based on a local menu.

The new café-bar, under the arches of the Procuratie Vecchie in Piazza San Marco, will also have its own stalls, which the old restaurant – known as ‘Totobar’ – did not have. (HANDLE).
