(ANSA) – BARI, MARCH 13 – Four nuns traveling on board a minibus died in a road accident that took place shortly after 6.30 pm on the A16 motorway between Candela and Cerignola, towards Bari. Eight other people were injured and their conditions are not known at the moment. According to what was ascertained by the traffic police in the initial surveys, the minibus would have overturned, breaking the guard rail and ending up in an embankment. The helicopter rescue intervention is in progress. Firemen and police officers are operating. At the moment the section between Candela and Cerignola west is closed and there are two kilometers of queue towards Canosa. For users heading towards Canosa, after the compulsory exit at Candela, Autostrade advises to take the ordinary road system to return to the motorway at Cerignola Ovest. (HANDLE).
