(ANSA) – TURIN, MARCH 14 – First empty shelves, in Turin, in supermarkets of large-scale distribution. The fears of the protests of the hauliers against expensive fuels and the fear that the war in Ukraine could develop also in our country, triggered the first hoardings of food.
“Since the weekend there has been a real assault on the shelves – explains Lucia, cashier of the Hypercoop in via Livorno – Pasta, flour and salt are the most bought products”. The stalls have been practically emptied, although there is no real shortage in stocks. “For an unmotivated psychosis, people fill the trolley much more than before and it becomes difficult for us to keep up with the supply of the shelves – explain the supermarket staff -. This is why many of these are visibly empty, but the warehouses are full and the stocks are they are not missing”. (HANDLE).
