The 100 days to Maturity 2022 have finally arrived. But there is little to celebrate: between a pandemic still in progress, a war that has just begun and the final exams, the anniversary seems to pass almost unnoticed.
When tradition would have it that on this day the graduates organize all kinds of activities to celebrate the turning point towards the final sprint (the state exams begin on 22 June). Lunches, trips out of town, parties: every year thousands of students let themselves go and enjoy a day of full leisure. This year, however, things could be different.
In fact, according to a recent survey conducted by the Skuola.net portal – which was attended by 1,000 graduates – more than 1 in 3 boys have revealed that they do not want to celebrate 100 days by choice. To these is added a 16% who had other things to think about, while another 19% did not even know about the recurrence. So, in the end, those who celebrate the anniversary will be in a clear minority: the remaining 29%, about 1 in 3.
To weigh on the choice of those who decided to postpone the celebrations to the happiest moments, were mainly the concerns related to the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine and the hardships experienced in the last two years, characterized by the pandemic: for 1 in 4 there is little to to celebrate. Not only that, among the reasons for the “no-party” about 22% reveal that they want to focus exclusively on the exam, an indication of how students fear the Maturity 2022 more than anything else. But, in general, most of those who do not celebrate today declare that they do so for no particular reason: so for 33% of them.
An individual choice in most cases: 4 out of 5 students say they are not aware of what their classmates will do during the day. While only in 28% of cases, not to celebrate was a choice shared by the entire class group.
