Ukraine: family doctors from Naples set up clinics

(ANSA) – NAPLES, MAR 15 – The family doctors of the Fimmg take to the field to help those fleeing the war by creating clinics in the area in which to visit even those who do not yet have an STP code, or a foreigner temporarily present. The first structure has already been open to Ukrainian citizens in Nola (in via San Paolo Belsito 85), and is the one that has been dedicated to the “invisible” for 27 years now. Dr. Enrico Fedele, who was the first to imagine a general medicine facility that would work as a team, directs the clinic.

The clinic is open Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 8.80 to 12.30. While on Thursday morning from 10.00 to 12.00 and in the afternoon from 16.00 to 20.00.

“Last week – explains Fedele – we welcomed the first patients arriving from Ukraine. In their eyes we can read the suffering of what is happening and the fear of a future annihilated by bombs. Our task is to lend them the care that is needed, without ifs and buts “. The first arrivals are members of a family that had to travel more than 20 hours to escape the war. “In this very difficult moment – explain the doctors Luigi Sparano and Corrado Calamaro (Fimmg) – offering solidarity to the least and marginalized people, many of whom are unable to receive adequate care, is essential. All of us family doctors of the Fimmg we feel the moral obligation to offer assistance to the refugees and displaced persons of this war “.

The Fimmg therefore makes available its widespread and widespread network of family doctors and continuity of care, also strengthened by the availability of doctors who have left their professional activity due to age limits. Other centers open to visits for those fleeing the war will be born in the coming days in structures already active in the territory of Naples and its province, in medical offices and in functional territorial aggregations.
