(ANSA) – BARI, MARCH 23 – The circle tightens around the thief of San Nicola, the author of the sacrilegious theft that at dawn yesterday he snatched from the hands of the saint of Myra, patron saint of Bari, by entering the Basilica in his heart of the old city, a gold ring, the gospel book with three silver spheres and a medallion containing a vial of the sacred manna, as well as emptying the offering boxes. The policemen of the flying squad and of the flying squads have been on his trail since yesterday, on the basis of the identikit reconstructed thanks to the images extrapolated from the cameras of the Basilica that have immortalized him. He could be homeless, probably not from Bari. The investigations are coordinated by prosecutor Angela Maria Morea, who has opened a file for burglary aggravated by having violated a place of worship.
