Unesco: from Gambrinus to the Trianon Theater, Naples pushes coffee

(ANSA) – NAPLES, 26 MAR – A day in Naples thinking together about the history of espresso coffee which launched the Unesco candidacy of Italian coffee; the day is national and aims at the last ok for the presentation of the candidacy of the dossier “The Italian espresso coffee between culture, ritual, sociability and literature in the emblematic communities from Venice to Naples” as an intangible heritage of Humanity by Unesco.

A day that involved several bars in the city starting with Gambrinus, the symbolic bar of Piazza Plebiscito, a piece of history of the city that celebrated the history of coffee starting with the ‘cuccuma’, the ancient Neapolitan coffee machine, later surpassed from the mocha and the current electric machine for home, but never forgotten in the city. The thought of entering the products celebrated by Unesco was married today also for the race to the Oscar with a coffee at Gambrinus that the celebrants dedicated to Paolo Sorrentino and his race for the award with “E ‘è stato la mano di God”. A hand to drink and celebrate coffee throughout the city, from “La Caffettiera” in Piazza dei Martiri to the “Lazzarelle” bistro in the Galleria Principe, up to the Trianon Theater where the candidacy of the coffee was presented to the public this morning and to the Academy of Mediterranean Cuisine in Viale Kennedy for the show cooking dedicated to coffee.
