(ANSA) – NAPLES, 30 MAR – Diesel fuel for agricultural use, with reduced excise duty, and for fishing boats, with practically zero excise duty, sold as road transport diesel; and when the possibility of a police check loomed on the horizon, the hauler, to get out clean, colored the fuel with a simple but effective “push-button” mechanism thanks to which he injected the additive into the tank.
This is what the financiers of the Economic-Financial Police Unit of the Guard of Naples have discovered who today, between Puglia and Campania, have seized three fuel depots and a distributor, for a total capacity of about 1000 cubic meters, a parking area, five means of transport and about 100 thousand between Puglia and Campania. The seals were triggered in the context of investigations, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor of Nola, which concern 14 people against whom the investigators hypothesize the crimes, in competition, of subtraction from the assessment or payment of excise duty on energy products and irregularities in the circulation of fuels. The soldiers of the Revenue Protection Group focused on five companies, including one owner of a tax warehouse authorized to hold energy products under tax suspension, waiting to be released for consumption for various destinations. The suspects allegedly set up, between the provinces of Naples, Caserta, Salerno and Barletta, a system of tax fraud aimed at extracting from the tax deposit, through only formally correct documents, diesel oil with subsidized taxes for fishing or agricultural use, part of which instead it would have been destined in fact in the automotive sector. In this way, the suspects would have guaranteed profits commensurate with the higher tax to which the diesel would have been subjected if destined directly for final use for automotive purposes.
