(ANSA) – ROME, MARCH 31 – “The agreement between the Spallanzani Institute and the Russian Gamaleya is one of the autonomous international collaboration initiatives of our research institutes” and has in any case been “suspended”. On the Sputnik case, on the alleged “spy story” linked to the trial of the Russian vaccine at the Roman Institute specializing in infectious diseases, come the words of the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza who, responding to a question to the Senate, addressed the story linked to the collaboration between the two health facilities launched on the basis of an agreement of 8 April 2021, precisely in the days when a Russian delegation was in Bergamo for the mission From Russia with love, and suspended after the invasion of Ukraine.
Speranza’s words arrive on the day when the Health Commission of the Lazio Region indicated, with thirteen votes in favor and one against, Francesco Vaia as general manager of Spallanzani. The process for the appointment now passes through the decree of the regional council.
