According to what was reconstructed by the police, the victim would have tried to protect himself from bullets by using his cousin’s wife as a shield.

Shortly before being wounded, De Marzo had been subjected to public security surveillance. And since the early hours of the morning he had had a series of arguments with his family, probably due to the use of drugs.

The discussions would escalate until his cousin, who was arrested in the act a few hours later, shot him. The dynamics were confirmed by the images of the video surveillance cameras. The shooter, arrived on the spot, after a heated discussion, would have extracted the war weapon (found stolen in the province of Taranto), aiming at De Marzo, who would have tried to shield himself with the body of the aggressor’s wife, who intervened on the spot to settle the quarrel. The woman, blocked and girded around the neck by the victim, would have managed to free herself and escape and, only then, the 38-year-old would have shot, wounding De Marzo with two gunshots and then also in the head with the butt of the weapon.
