(ANSA) – BUSTO ARSIZIO, 06 APR – “I am a coward, I am ashamed for what I did and for not calling you immediately”.
These are the words spoken by Davide Fontana, the 43 year old who killed and cut to pieces the neighbor Carol Maltesi in Rescaldina (Milan), whose body was found last week in the Brescia countryside, during his third interrogation, made today to the Prosecutor of Busto Arsizio (Varese) Carlo Nocerino in the prison of Brescia. This is what his defense lawyer Stefano Paloschi told ANSA.
Fontana, who was listened to for over five hours, “answered all the questions of the investigators and said he was absolutely sorry,” said the lawyer. During the interrogation “he had an emotional breakdown”, added Paloschi, “he called himself a coward several times for not having the courage to immediately call the police”.
During the five-hour interview, the investigators looked for evidence of the crime found in the victim’s home and what had already been said by Fontana himself.
Paloschi, an official lawyer since the 43-year-old’s arrest, has been appointed as a trusted lawyer. (HANDLE).
