Dead woman, her husband said ‘it’s suicide’ but is now under investigation

(ANSA) – BOLOGNA, APRIL 06 – Prosecutor and carabinieri investigate the death of a 59-year-old woman in Bologna on 5 September in a house in a town in the province. Her husband, 61, said he found her lying on her bed, with a rope around her neck and her end tied to a back: a suicide, he said to the rescue and then to the military. But now the man, as reported by the Corriere di Bologna and the circumstance is confirmed in investigative circles, is being investigated for voluntary homicide. Yesterday he was interrogated for a long time. He has declared himself completely a stranger and is on the loose.

The investigation is coordinated by the prosecutor Augusto Borghini. The attention would be focused on some contradictions in the story provided by the spouse in the immediacy of the facts and on the conflicting relationship between the two, as reported by some witnesses.

The autopsy concluded that a death caused by asphyxia and a mix of drugs and the toxicological tests confirmed the intake of massive doses of antidepressants, which the woman was taking, but the question is whether, with such a concentration of substances in body, could have committed suicide in that way. The suspect is defended by the lawyer Ermanno Corso.
