These are some of the behaviors contested by three Pakistanis arrested by the Carabinieri of Portomaggiore (Ferrara) in an operation against illegal hiring in agriculture: they respond to illegal intermediation and aggravated exploitation of labor, brawl, slander.

In addition to the three recipients of a precautionary custody order, carried out between Emilia and Veneto, 23 entrepreneurs were also reported on the loose and searched. state of need.

The investigations started with a brawl, in Portomaggiore, in October 2020, in which the arrested would have quelled the grievances of the workers. About fifteen people were involved, some of whom were seriously injured with bars and glass shards, while others called in the military.

The three are accused, among other things, of having withheld money from wages for themselves, of having violated the sector regulations on hours, weekly rest, holidays, training, and of having threatened retaliation against those who wanted report everything to the police. The investigations have investigated conduct that has been going on since 2018, identifying a sort of organization, established over the years, which was also based on the awareness of agricultural entrepreneurs, aware of the illicit procedure.
