(ANSA) – ALEXANDRIA, APRIL 08 – Fleeing from Odessa flying over Europe to bring his small plane back to France, painted in the yellow and blue colors of the war-torn country, after having saved the Ukrainian girlfriend and mom. It is the daring journey of David Van Hemelryck, a man accustomed to adventures, born in France and then moved to Odessa, for the love of a woman, before moving to Portugal. Two weeks on the road, making numerous stopovers, until the unexpected strong wind in Liguria that yesterday forced him to ask for assistance to land in Piedmont, in Alessandria, where he was offered a night in a hotel because he did not have the money to pay it.
Today he left for the last part of his mission, to take his small aircraft to the shelter of the Côte d’Azur.
The story is told by Liberato Rosiello, president of the ‘Bovone’ Aeroclub in Alessandria, the airport that yesterday received a request for help from the French pilot from ENAV.
