(ANSA) – LAMPEDUSA, APRIL 10 – Two landings – with 87 and 85 migrants – at dawn in Lampedusa (Agrigento). Yesterday, in the space of 24 hours, 510 people arrived on the island with 12 different small boats and the hotspot was found, in just under 48 hours, to go from two guests to 831. Most of the arrived comes from Egypt, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Niger and Eritrea.

To block the boats – with a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 119 migrants – were the patrol boats of the Coast Guard and the Yellow Flames.

To cope with the new wave of landings and the overcrowded hotspot, the Prefecture of Agrigento, in agreement with the Interior Ministry, has ordered – and the police have already embarked the migrants – the transfer of 127 people on the scheduled ferry that will arrive in evening in Porto Empedocle (Agrigento).
