School: discriminated disabled, high school condemned in Milan

The institute summoned her for the admission test without granting her an individualized test and without her support teacher. The girl got a low grade and was excluded, but the family appealed and won, as we read today on the Milanese pages of ‘La Repubblica’.

The First Section – Human Rights of the Court of Milan accepted the appeal presented by the lawyers Livio Neri and Francesco Rizzi, and condemned the school to enroll the girl in the first year of the course without any entry test. The Ministry of Education will also have to pay compensation of three thousand euros.

Judge Serena Nicotra accepted the appeal for the “discriminatory action to protect minor pupils with disabilities”.
