(ANSA) – VERONA, APRIL 12 – At the Verona Arena, a crane damaged a balustrade during the works for the fittings in the amphitheater. Today there was a technical inspection this morning in the Arena to verify the consequences of the fall of the stone cover of the parapet of the royal box positioned at gate 37. On site the deputy mayor and councilor for public works Luca Zanotto, together with the Superintendent Vincenzo Tinè and the architect Giovanna Battista. Municipality and Superintendency have agreed for the immediate restoration with consolidation of the detached part, at the expense of the Arena Foundation which from April 1st to October 15th has the amphitheater in delivery. Not only will the part of the damaged artifact be made safe but, with the help of a team of restorers, a partial restoration of the stage will be carried out while waiting for the rest of the Art Bonus restoration to also involve this sector of the auditorium. A mini construction site lasting five days, starting already after Easter. (HANDLE).
