Entire family poisoned by carbon monoxide in Livorno

(ANSA) – LIVORNO, APRIL 12 – An entire family of foreign citizens, four adults and three children was rescued this morning in Livorno in via Maggi, due to carbon monoxide poisoning. They are a 46-year-old man, three women of 24, 38 and 61 years and three children of 6 months, 8 months and 2 years. All the intoxicated were initially accompanied to the emergency room in Livorno for investigations. The transfer for treatment in a hyperbaric chamber was then activated and is still in progress for both children, at the Meyer in Florence, and for adults who have been referred to the Florentine hospital in Careggi. On the spot, an apartment on the top floor of a building, two ambulances from Misericordia Antignano and Svs Ardenza intervened, together with a team of firefighters who started investigations to trace the causes that led to the intoxication of the rescued people .
