(ANSA) – REGGIO CALABRIA, APRIL 14 – He was in possession of a large quantity of multimedia files of a child pornography nature, depicting minors even at an early age, stored both on his fixed and mobile devices, and directly on the web, in the cloud. A 42-year-old man, residing in the province of Reggio Calabria, was arrested by agents of the Postal and Communications Police of Reggio Calabria on charges of detention and dissemination of child pornography material through social networks.
The policemen, as part of the action to combat the phenomenon of online child pornography, carried out a local, personal and computer search with immediate forensic analysis carried out by specialized personnel of the State Police, finding the child pornography material (over 1000 images and video).
The investigative activity, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Reggio Calabria, directed by Giovanni Bombardieri, was conducted by the Postal Police Department for Calabria through an intense “computer shadowing” activity.
As happened on previous occasions, also in this case a report received through the international circuit of cooperation in the field of contrasting the exploitation of minors online was fundamental, with foreign bodies and non-governmental associations, whose developments are coordinated on the national territory by CNCPO, National Center for the Fight against Online Child Pornography, based in Rome in the Postal and Communications Police Service.
