(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 14 – An army of crafty people made up of hundreds of people who illegally received citizenship income for about a year. In just over 12 months, the period analyzed in the investigation by the carabinieri in Central Italy, about 5 million euros of the subsidy ended up unduly in the pockets of almost a thousand people. From the investigation of the “Podgora” Interregional Command and the Labor Inspectorate Units of the Arma, it emerged that between January 2021 and last February in Lazio, Tuscany, Umbria, Marche and Sardinia, 955 people bypassed the law while managing to get his hands on assistance income.
There is a vast “gallery” of tricks used to defraud the legislation. There are those who had failed to declare that they are the owner of real estate for which they received income, those who had falsely declared the composition of their family unit and relative income, who had declared a false place of residence. In the network of controls also ended up people who received income but did not declare that they have preventive measures or in some cases precautionary at their own expense or with family members.
