Threats to Di Maio: 3 alleged perpetrators identified

(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 16 – The Police have identified three alleged authors of the publication of threatening messages addressed to Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio. Three searches were carried out in Milan, Vicenza and Udine which allowed the presence of anonymous accounts used for forwarding messages to be found on the phones.

In the morning, the State Police, as part of a complex investigation activity initiated by the Postal Police Service and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Rome, with the operators of the Postal Police Departments of Milan, Trieste and Venice, together with staff of the Digos of Milan, Vicenza and Udine carried out 3 delegated searches against Internet users against which circumstantial elements were found such as to make them believe authors of the publication of messages. In particular, following the publication on Twitter by Minister Di Maio of statements regarding the conflict in progress, it was found the presence of various response messages of the following tenor: “Die badly, and perhaps at the hands of the people.” , “Yes, come on, arm yourself and then we will decide who we want to shoot”, “There are no words to describe, just go thrown into the rusco”. And again, within the reserved Telegram channels and VK social pages, the Postal Police has identified other messages with threats including, for example, the one published in a pro-Russian propaganda channel that literally reads: “But a sniper … that the 4 destroyers of Italy kill us, can’t we send him there? ” .
