Venice full of tourists, ACTV strengthens vaporetto rides

(ANSA) – VENICE, APRIL 18 – New organization of passenger waiting on land, and strengthening of shipping lines, in particular for Murano and Burano, are the interventions with which Avm / Actv, the public transport company of Venice, responded to the great tourist pressure recorded on this Easter holiday. Consistent pressure also on the other islands and on the Lido, which was also confirmed on Easter Sunday. Fondamenta Nove A, the main access terminal for Murano, Mazzorbo, Burano and Torcello, benefited from the new ground organization of waiting with orderly queues and guaranteed priority access for residents.

The success of the initiative, explains Avm / Actv, is testified by the numbers: over 4,000 people managed between 09:30 and 14:30 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The company reports that no problems have been detected even at the Murano Faro and Burano stops thanks to the additional inflow and outflow line 12 runs organized by the company in a structural way. More rides from the vaporetti that will be confirmed for all Saturdays, Sundays and holidays until the beginning of November, with two trips per hour starting at 11:00 and until 20:00. Finally, additional rides were also organized on line 15, from P.ta Sabbioni to San Marco – San Zaccaria, and on the way back (in the opposite direction (ANSA).
