Violence women: ER boosts freedom income, 1.5 million resources

(ANSA) – BOLOGNA, APRIL 20 – Concrete help to women victims of violence to get their lives back in hand. The Income of Freedom, a measure introduced by the Government for women followed by anti-violence centers and social services, is going in this direction, and Emilia-Romagna significantly increases the resources available. To the 200 thousand euros allocated by the state for 2022, the Region adds another 1.3 million, bringing the total available to one and a half million. A measure, underlined the Councilor for Equal Opportunities Barbara Lori at the press conference, which will make it possible to finance all the 290 applications presented in the first three months of the year. Before the integration only 42 questions had been answered.

Among other things, additional funding is on the way. In the coming weeks, Lori anticipated, an additional tranche of state resources equal to 667 thousand euros will be assigned to Emilia-Romagna, which will make it possible to exceed two million euros overall. “A ceiling capable of giving answers to an important audience of women”.

The Income of Freedom, established in 2020 and becoming operational between the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, is a national measure that the Regions can decide to integrate with their own funding. It provides for the disbursement of a monthly allowance of up to 400 euros for a maximum period of one year. It is aimed at women victims of violence, with or without children, in conditions of economic need, to help them embark on a path of autonomy. The allowance can be combined with other measures, such as citizenship income. Applications must be submitted to one’s own Municipality of residence, together with the certificate of the anti-violence center and a certification of the territorial services.
