(ANSA) – AMANDOLA, 23 APR – Fatal fall for a hiker on Mount Amandola, in the Sibillini Mountains Park. Alerted by the Amandola carabinieri, the technicians of the Alpine and Speleological Rescue of Montefortino (Fermo), together with the teams of Macerata and Ascoli Piceno, intervened on the path 242 which cuts the slope obliquely from the Amandola Refuge. The hiker had left with her husband and then separated on different paths. Not seeing her come back, he called for help. The searches of the Fire Brigade on the ground and with the helicopter made it possible to locate the woman’s body in the cliff below the path. The hiker died as a result of the trauma sustained when falling about 60 meters along the cliff. After landing on the spot, the doctor and the technician of the Icaro 02 helicopter rescue could not help but ascertain the death of the woman and recover her body to make it available to the judicial authorities.
