(ANSA) – PREDAPPIO, APRIL 24 – 150 people showed up in Predappio, the town on the Forlì Apennines where Benito Mussolini was born, to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the death of the Duce on 28 April 1945. The event, organized from the Ravenna section of the National Arditi d’Italia-Anai Association, he saw the nostalgic parades – without any public order problem and watched by the association’s private order service and by the police – from Piazza Sant ‘Antonio to the nearby cemetery of San Cassiano where the commemorative speeches were held, before visiting the family crypt which houses the remains of Mussolini and a mass in suffrage. Present Orsola and Vittoria Mussolini, grandsons of Vittorio Mussolini, eldest son of the leadership of Fascism.

The organizer of the commemoration, Mirco Santarelli, of the Arditi di Faenza, took the floor – before going to the Crypt and to the mass of suffrage – who invited the participants in the procession not to give the Roman salute and instead put their hand on the heart. In his speech, among other things, Santarelli recalled the ‘Battle of the Wheat’ conducted by Mussolini while “now we buy wheat from Ukraine” and the energy dependence on other countries “while Mussolini had given us an Empire” and with the “oil of Libya” would have been Italy to export energy.

In addition to the demonstration in the streets of Predappio, yesterday, in the municipality of Forlì, the exhibition ‘O Roma, o morte. A century after the march, which in recent days has sparked numerous discussions. Organized by the ‘Memoria Predappio’ foundation, on the occasion of the centenary of the event that brought Benito Mussolini to power, it is held in a restaurant and will be open until 5 November.
