(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, APRIL 25 – An April 25 of struggle for peace: only a Ukrainian flag on the shoulders of a demonstrator who caused some controversy, but many rainbow banners and banners and flyers against the war. About 2500 people in the procession for the Liberation in Cagliari, but a part of the demonstrators remained in line, breaking away from the rest of the group to express dissent against Italy’s sending arms to Ukraine. Emblematic is the banner “Italy out of the imperialist war” with also a clear protest against NATO.

The demonstration started at 10 from Piazza Garibaldi. Then the walk of about 500 meters to the war memorial.

The deputy mayor Giorgio Angius is present for the municipality of Cagliari. Here the laurel wreath was laid. Solidarity with Ukraine was however expressed by the organizing committee over the megaphone immediately after the passage to the Remembrance Park. Floral tribute also to the monument dedicated to Antonio Gramsci, a victim of fascism.

“The associations Anpi, Anppia and Uaps – this is the position of the promoters of the march – express a firm condemnation of the Russian aggression and recognize the Ukrainian right to defense. It is precisely the tragic situation underway that pushes us to fight even more convinced because the diplomacy has the upper hand over weapons: peoples pay a very high price to wars and lose even when their own side is victorious. War is a profitable business for very few: the sooner it is stopped, the better for everyone “. (HANDLE).
