(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, APRIL 27 – The request for mitigation of the precautionary measure imposed on the former financial broker Roberto Diomedi, 51 years old from Sinnai, will be presented in recent days, who in recent days has answered the questions of the judge for two and a half hours for the preliminary investigations Ermengarda Ferrarese, trying to give an explanation on his activity and reiterating that he is authorized by concessions obtained in England.

He rejects the accusation of being the mastermind of a scam with the “Ponzi scheme” which would have created a maxi scam worth 4 million euro to the detriment of thousands of investors.

In the meantime, the judge has lightened the restrictive measure against his sister Barbara Diomedi: no longer house arrest but the obligation of residence to allow her to support herself and her two children. The woman, in fact, as the lawyer Pierandrea Setzu has shown, actually lives in a state of indigence, also helped by voluntary associations.

Defended by the lawyer Antonello Garau, the former financial borker has been locked up for a few days in the Uta prison, after being arrested on the orders of the investigating judge as soon as he landed at Elmas airport. To coordinate the investigations of the Guardia di Finanza and the Postal Police there is the Deputy Prosecutor Diana Lecca who hypothesizes, for various reasons and each for her own charges, crimes ranging from criminal association aimed at financial unauthorization, fraud, but also recycling and self-laundering. According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the group (there are 12 suspects, six of which have been reached by precautionary measures) would have set up a “Ponzi scheme” with the victims who were attracted to invest with the promise of interest up to 5% monthly which at the end of the year however it had not materialized.
