After the CGIL complaint comes Conad’s counter-response: the owner-manager of the store will be excluded from the cooperative system of the supermarket chain. The director had ended up on the pages of the news for a voice on WhatsApp in which she intimated to the employees a self-report after the discovery of a sanitary napkin left in the toilets of the workers, under penalty of a direct and personal control in search of the ‘guilty’, which, as stated by the union, it would then be implemented by the foremen.
Sources close to the company explain that the relationship between the parent company and the local ‘branches’ is governed by a contract and that neither the owner nor the workers are formally Conad’s.
So the solution will be to cut off the combination between the store and the brands. This means that the ‘investigated’ workers are currently always employed by the private company of the Pescara store owned by the manager.
