(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, APRIL 28 – About 700 shells removed from the Sardinian coasts and, in particular, from the beaches of Bosa Marina (Oristano) and Poetto (Cagliari) were intercepted and seized by the officials of the Customs and Monopoly Agency ( Adm) and by the Guardia di Finanza in the luggage of some tourists departing at the “M. Mameli” airport of Cagliari-Elmas.

Despite the information campaigns on social media, in the press and on TV, the signs posted at ports and airports as well as on the beaches, with the resumption of tourist flows, we are witnessing again irresponsible behavior of vacationers who remove pebbles, sand and shells from the island coasts , protected by the regional law of 2017 which expressly prohibits the removal, possession and sale of even small quantities, providing for an administrative penalty ranging from 500 to 3,000 euros.

Last summer alone, from July to September, the ADM officials, also in the Elmas airport, seized about 5,400 pieces of shells and pebbles, imposing penalties on about twenty tourists who wanted to take home the precious souvenirs taken. from the most beautiful Sardinian beaches. (HANDLE).
