(ANSA) – BARI, APRIL 29 – A commando made up of at least five people, shortly before 7.30, attempted a robbery at a security carrier on the A14 motorway and set fire to two vehicles on the north and south carriageways to cover their escape. It happened on the Bologna-Taranto, at kilometer 656, in the section between Molfetta and Bitonto, which was temporarily closed. Three security guards were attacked and were slightly injured. According to what is learned about the attack, which failed, at least five robbers, who then fled, blocked the traffic by setting fire to three SUVs and two articulated vehicles, and attacked the three security guards traveling with the security carrier, who reported minor injuries. The dynamics on which the traffic police and the flying squad are working is not yet clear. Long queues currently exist on that stretch of motorway in both directions. (HANDLE).
