(ANSA) – CASSANO ALLO IONIO, 01 MAY – The lifeless body of a diver was found on the coast of Cassano allo Ionio, in the province of Cosenza, on the beach between the tourist village Marina di Sibari and the Sibari lakes. It is a man with the apparent age of 45 who, at the moment, has not yet been identified.
To make the discovery in the late morning it seems to have been some people who were on the beach and who immediately alerted the police. From what has been learned it seems that the man, who had immersed himself in the sea, was hit by an illness and then the currents would have carried his body to the shore where he was found.
The Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Cassano allo Ionio, led by Captain Michele Ornelli, intervened on the site of the discovery. In all likelihood, the prosecutor on duty at the Castrovillari Public Prosecutor’s Office will arrange the autopsy exam on the man’s body in the next few days. (HANDLE).
