This is what Pope Francis presented himself this morning to the plenary assembly of the International Union of Superiors General received at the Vatican. Bergoglio has been suffering from knee problems for days which also led to the cancellation of hearings and official commitments. Francis was greeted by a long applause from the nuns and in several they also chanted phrases of encouragement such as “Long live the Pope!”. Once he reached his desk, Francesco, who started speaking in Spanish, immediately said he didn’t want to read the prepared speech of “nine folders”: “What do I do – he said jokingly -, I read it and you sleep? rather questions? “.
