(ANSA) – CATANZARO, 05 MAY – The president of Reggina Luca Gallo was arrested by the Guardia di Finanza in execution of a precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge of Rome. The alleged crimes against the entrepreneur – who, in addition to being president of the club that plays in Serie B, operates in the sector of support services to businesses for the management and supply of personnel – are self-laundering and failure to pay VAT. The soldiers of the Gdf economic and financial police unit are carrying out searches and kidnappings. Gallo was placed under house arrest. The financiers also carried out a preventive seizure decree, also for equivalent, of assets for 11,437,340 euros and of the shares of 17 companies. The measures were issued by the investigating judge at the request of the Public Prosecutor, in order to prevent the repetition of the crimes. The investigations concerned the financial flows between the numerous companies headed by Gallo. The core business, the investigators say, is represented by the supply of manpower, in particular by the supply and management of personnel made available to third-party companies, located throughout the country and operating in the most varied fields, from catering to hotel services, from cleaning of logistics and porterage activities. Overall, the companies covered by the seizure employ over 1,700 employees. “The measures – explains the Gdf – originate from investigations and activities carried out in synergy with the National Labor Inspectorate in the context of which it was ascertained the carrying out of a staff supply activity using the scheme of the fictitious service contract and the ‘self-financing through the systematic failure to pay taxes, in particular VAT and withholdings, as well as contributions relating to employees “. In Gallo, in 2021, almost 7 million assets had already been seized. From the subsequent investigations, continues the Gdf, “serious circumstantial elements have been acquired regarding the systematic ‘re-use’ of large sums of income from the omitted payment of VAT to acquire control and management” of Reggina, which “is not the subject of the precautionary measure “.
