Bad weather: Aeolian islands isolated due to the strong sirocco wind

(ANSA) – LIPARI, 06 MAY – Since yesterday afternoon the Aeolian Islands have been isolated due to the strong sirocco wind that sweeps the archipelago from the south-east with gusts that have reached 50 kilometers per hour. Hydrofoils and ships have suspended all scheduled routes with the mainland. Violent storm surges hit the seven islands. In Porto delle Genti, in Lipari, the waves have reached the houses overlooking the beach, which has now literally disappeared. The gusts of wind are also causing damage to the vineyards especially of Salina, Lipari and Vulcano and also to the many crops scattered throughout the archipelago.

Yesterday afternoon Ambra Angiolini also “tried” the rough seas who, with the Liberty hydrofoil, Lines was headed to Stromboli where she will shoot the television series on Civil Protection; arriving in the small village of Ginostra she preferred to disembark, fearing that the hydrofoil for rough seas would not dock and so she was picked up from a rubber dinghy and transferred to Stromboli.
