(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, 06 MAY – Peace education, recruitment of teachers and staff, cognitive investment at the center of the report by the Minister of University and Research Maria Cristina Messa who today closed the inauguration ceremony of the academic year in Cagliari 2021-2022.
“The University has a fundamental role in education for peace, we must talk about it, it means avoiding situations of malaise, avoiding the social spurt and economic hardship that can lead to war”, underlined the government representative.
As regards recruitment, “we will start – he explained – with an extraordinary plan that provides for the increase of teachers and administrative technical staff that in the space of four years will bring almost ten thousand more people to universities”. According to the minister, “the right to education must be guaranteed and strengthened as much as possible”. For this, she added, “I very much appreciated the report of the student representative”.
In fact, “all universities try to invest in residences, also for internationalization and I remember that in the NRP there are almost one billion euros for new residences”.
No less important than the economic one is the cognitive investment because, Mass concluded, “the University must be able to build new courses and overcome barriers: we are working on a reform that does not classify our knowledge in a way that is no longer current. : if the children leave, it is also because they do not see a change in our training method “.
