Teacher’s Day: holiday history

Education Workers Day
– this is the official name of this holiday. Although for us “Teacher’s Day” sounds much more familiar.

The date of the celebration was set during the Soviet era September 29, 1965
… But officially, Teacher’s Day began to be celebrated in 1980.

Later, in independent Ukraine, according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine from September 11, 1994
, Teachers’ Day began to be celebrated annually on the first Sunday in October.

But International Teachers’ Day is celebrated annually 5 october
… In 2021, it will be Tuesday.
