(ANSA) – PAVIA, 10 MAY – They punished them for bad grades at school, beating them with a broom and whipping them with the electric current cable. A behavior that cost the father and mother, a couple of Indian origins living in Pavia, the sentence of 4 months for abuse of means of correction (the sentence was suspended). The court also established that the two children (a boy of 16 and a girl of 12) are compensated for the violence suffered with 10 thousand euros each. The news was given today by the newspaper ‘La Provincia Pavese’.
The facts date back to three years ago. It was the children themselves who denounced the abuses suffered by their parents, initially accused of mistreatment in the family before the crime was declassified in abuse of means of correction. The affair was also followed up by the Juvenile Court of Milan, which ordered the removal of the two boys from their family.
In reality, as the lawyers representing the children explained during the hearing, the school grades were above pass, but evidently not at a level to satisfy the father and mother. The defender of the parents argued that in the meantime a relationship between the two minors and the family would have been rebuilt, and announced an appeal. (HANDLE).
