(ANSA) – PALERMO, MAY 13 – “Mr. Salvini, is your duty to block people at sea?” It is the writing on a sign shown in front of the Ucciardone prison – where the hearing of the Open Arms trial with the accused senator of the League is in progress – by some young people of the Our Voice artistic-cultural movement. In the artistic performance the former Minister of the Interior is represented sitting on a chair, in front of three half-naked boys, wrapped in a transparent cloth that symbolizes the Mediterranean Sea whose edges are tightened in the hands of Salvini.
“With this performance – explains Thierno Mbengue, a native of Senegal – we want to symbolically represent what Salvini did in 2019. The cloth wraps the migrants as if to suffocate and trap them in the waves”. (HANDLE).
