Is it a whim of Arahamia or the desire of all “servants”? Who asked for the resignation of Razumkov

The head of the Servant of the People faction has long been sharpening his grudge against the Speaker of the Rada and even applied for his dismissal

The head of the Servant of the People faction David Arakhamia did not arbitrarily initiate the resignation of the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Razumkov, but on behalf of his entire faction.

The resignation was not discussed at the faction?

Yulia Paliychuk, press secretary of SN, said that at the meetings of the Servant of the People faction, the topic of recalling the parliamentary leadership was not raised. “Servants” will discuss personnel issues in the Cabinet of Ministers and Rada at the congress in Truskavets.

“Regarding reports in the media about sending a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada with a request to instruct the Parliament Office to prepare the appropriate signature lists, we inform you that this is the right of a people’s deputy, provided for by the law on the rules, and every people’s choice can use it.”– she wrote.

Note: according to the Rules of the Verkhovna Rada, proposals to remove the head of parliament from office can be made by at least one third of the members of the constitutional composition of the Rada.

The instigator is not only Arahamia

In turn, the press secretary of the head of parliament Olga Tuniy explained that all “servants of the people” are asking for Razumkov’s resignation, and not Arakhamia personally.

“In connection with the statement made by the speaker of the Servant of the People faction, we inform you that the letter on the recall of the Chairman of the Parliament was sent by the head of the Servant of the People faction precisely from the deputy faction, and not on behalf of the People’s Deputy.”– she said.

Razumkov’s conflict with the “Servant of the people”

  • It all started after Dmitry Razumkov sent a bill on oligarchs to the Venice Commission. He agreed to do this at the request of the Ombudsman and all opposition factions, but refused a request not to do this to his native Servant of the People party.
  • The first to “rebel” was the head of the “SN” faction, David Arakhamia, who first, in a commentary to journalists, ran into Razumkov, promising that he would have a conversation with the head of parliament. Then Arahamia continued to harshly criticize him on the air of the “Freedom of Speech Savik Shuster” program.
  • Then, on the same program, Stefanchuk got down to business, who right there filed a complaint with Razumkov: they say that the speaker recently refused him a request to submit the bill on local referendums to the Venice Commission, and after a while he sent an oligarchic law there.
  • Now it got to the point that Razumkov was not invited to the congress in Truskavets. The deputies are expected to discuss the possible dismissal of the speaker there.

As we already wrote, the President’s Office delivered an ultimatum to Razumkov so that he could decide whether he was the speaker with his party or with the oligarchs.
