(ANSA) – CATANZARO, MAY 14 – Six candidates for mayor and 23 running lists, for a total of over 700 aspiring directors. The outlines of the electoral confrontation scheduled for June 12 in Catanzaro where almost 74,000 voters will return to the polls to elect the new mayor and renew the civic assembly of the Calabrian capital.
The center-right coalition is divided despite grueling weeks of tables and summits. On the one hand, in fact, there are Fi and Lega (present with two lists that refer to the President of the Regional Council Filippo Mancuso), who find themselves – without name and symbol – on the positions of a civic candidate from the former Democratic Party, Valerio Donato, also supported by exponents of the center-left and from Italia Viva, and from the other Brothers of Italy who will move alone by deploying the deputy group leader in the Chamber, Wanda Ferro with the endorsement of the outgoing mayor Sergio Abramo in office for 20 of the last 25 years.
Nino Campo, entrepreneur, supported by Catanzaro Oltre, will compete for the position of mayor; Francesco Di Lieto, lawyer and national vice-president of Codacons, expression of the antagonist left, supported by the “We dare together” list; Donato, professor at the Magna Graecia University, former PD, who will be able to count on the support of ten lists: Alleanza per Catanzaro and Prima L’Italia (RPT Prima Italia) (inspired by the League), Riformisti Avanti, Catanzaro Azzurra (di inspiration Fi), Italy in the center, Making for Catanzaro, Catanzaro first of all (RPT Catanzaro First of all), Project Catanzaro, Rinascita, Volare Alto. And again: Nicola Fiorita, professor at the University of Calabria, center-left candidate for mayor, with five lists: Pd, M5s, Cambiavento, Mò – Fiorita Mayor, Catanzaro Fiorita; Wanda Ferro, deputy and regional coordinator of FdI, supported by a single List “Giorgia Meloni-FdI, and Antonello Talerico, lawyer and president of the Provincial Council of the order supported by five lists: I choose Catanzaro, Catanzaro al Centro, We with Italy, Officine del Sud, Popular Action.
