(ANSA) – MILAN, MAY 16 – The maxi ‘pilot’ investigation by the Public Prosecutor’s Office closes with an archiving, after the companies have fulfilled all the requirements to comply with Milan, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Labor Inspectorate Unit, on four giants of food delivery, Foodinho-Glovo, Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat, for alleged violations on the safety and health aspects of the messengers who deliver food at home.
Already at the beginning of December it was known that the prosecutors had requested the filing of the file against managers of Deliveroo (lawyers Nerio and Massimiliano Diodà), Just Eat (lawyer Andrea Puccio), Foodinho-Glovo (lawyers Severino-Pelanda) and Uber Eats (lawyers Francesco Sbisà and Vittorio Moresco). Now the investigating judge Angela Laura Minerva has accepted the request made by the pool led by the adjunct Tiziana Siciliano, who had made it known that “the total amount invested by the companies for the protection of the health and safety of the riders affected by the prescriptions given” is quantifiable “in a sum reasonably equal to approximately 10 million euros in total”. Among other things, they complied with the requirements for medical examinations, provision of Dpi, training and information on safety.
In the decree, the investigating judge writes that he has shared the “arguments” of the prosecutors and acknowledges that the companies have eliminated the violations and paid the penalties for “a quarter of the maximum fine provided”, with “the effect of extinguishing the crime” .
