(ANSA) – ASCOLI PICENO, MAY 20 – Fatal accident in the night with a head-on collision between a van and a motorcycle in Ascoli ‘alcohol for the 45-year-old construction worker, originally from the province of Foggia, driving the van involved in the fatal accident that took place along the Salaria state road, near Ascoli, in which Federico Pietracci, 34-year-old motorcyclist from Castel di Lama ( Ascoli Piceno).
The carabinieri who intervened on the spot carried out all the necessary checks, proceeding to carry out the breath test to the driver of the vehicle, which tested positive, with a blood alcohol level six times higher than the permitted limit.
Considering the result of the alcohol test and the surveys carried out, according to which the van would have completely invaded the opposite lane on a half curve to the right, the 45-year-old was declared under arrest for road murder in a state of alcoholic intoxication. The judicial authority of Ascoli has ordered the house arrest. The driving license was withdrawn and the vehicles seized.
The arrested person will be questioned in the coming days by the investigating judge of Ascoli to whom he will be able to provide his own version of the facts.
The 45-year-old was also injured in the accident, as were the other three occupants of the van; however, none of the four suffered serious consequences. (HANDLE).
