(ANSA) – BOLZANO, MAY 23 – A special couple, a solidarity project for the war in Ukraine and a journey, on foot from Bolzano, to Santa Maria di Leuca. They are Mario “Marius” Balducci, Venetian by birth and Bolzano by adoption, an eclectic artist and not new to such enterprises, and his wife Sonja, Swiss. Under the motto “Our name is never again”, title of the musical piece by Jovanotti, Ligabue and Pelù against all war, the couple Sonja and Mario will begin their long journey on foot between the end of May and the beginning of June. from the South Tyrolean capital to reach the extreme south of Puglia after about 3 months and about 1300 km. A journey to convey a message of solidarity “Let’s help Ukraine together!”. With them a cart with logos, products of South Tyrol, which they are trying to collect thanks to the generosity of some sponsors and ordinary people, and which they will give to the people they meet on their way.
“The basis of sustainability is respect and love – explains Mario Balducci – and what’s more sustainable than ancient walking? Do it also to open the mind, conscience and heart from the South of Tyrol to the south of Puglia , bringing a smile to receive another, to represent our territory with sympathy and love. Let’s do something for the Ukrainian people, but let’s also do it for the others, especially for the children for whom, now, the only existing game it is death and fear. We also do it against all wars in the world, selfishness, ignorance, indifference, injustices, lies and loneliness of the different “.
Mario Balducci and his wife Sonja will travel on foot, dressed in clothes made by them in the colors of the Ukrainian flag and with a cart, meeting people and enjoying their free hospitality.
